More and more funders require the outcomes of funded research activities to be open access. Diamond, Gold and Green open access are usually all viable options. Red (hybrid) open access is often accepted as well, but many funders are not eager to reimburse the corresponding costs. It is therefore important to verify in due time how such aspects are defined within the relevant call for application or grant agreement.
