Unimore has been participating in the annual editions of the main international rankings published by Times Higher Education (THE), Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), U-Multirank, and Universitas Indonesia since 2012. The required data for participation are sent to those agencies and entities by the Bibliometric Office and the working group of the “Sustainable Unimore” project, in collaboration with a number of other offices of the University.


International Rankings Working Group

In July 2020, Unimore established its own International Rankings Working Group

Designed to involve various stakeholders within the university, including delegates and administrative officials, the goal is to develop greater awareness and analytical capabilities regarding the indicators used by THE and QS.

The fundamental ambition of the working group is to provide, through its reports, a series of insights useful to all individuals involved in the development of university strategies and objectives.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)

The QS World University Rankings compiles an annual list of the best global universities from thousands under consideration.

The 6 pillars considered are: Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Citations per Faculty within the Scopus database, Faculty/Student Ratio, and the Presence of International Faculty and Students.

The first two indicators are measured through surveys sent to representatives OF various academic disciplines AS WELL AS SECTORS in the private industry.

Times Higher Education (THE)

The THE World University Rankings is one of the most prominent international rankings, with a specific focus on research activity.

Its 13 indicators are divided into six pillars: Teaching, Research, International Outlook, Citations per Faculty within the Scopus database and Industry Income.

Thomson Reuters, on behalf of TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION, conducts an annual survey sent to university professors and researchers, asking them to list the best universities in the world in their respective disciplines.
