Methodological note

The data used is the result of a thorough analysis and processing of expences recorded in Unimore’s accounting system for closed financial years.

since specific categories for each type of expenditure were not defined up to 2019, the anlysis started with the identification of publication expenses, followed by classification by type (i.e. apcs, publishing agreements, editorial services). in approximately 10% of cases, classification was not possible: out of 760 recorded expenses (amounting to 880,000 euros), 70 could not be classified (amounting to 75,000 euros).
